Bear in Your Cave? Sip Tea.

I have something for you today that I think we all might need.  A skill to navigate stress… to sit in the fire and not get burned.

So I gave a talk recently to a wonderful group saturated with powerful women.  Staring back at this group, you could just tell that they “get it done”… they get it ALL done and done well!

I feel like I can relate to these women a lot.  I don’t always get it done well, but perhaps like you, I have a lot to juggle. I have to get it all done and I really can’t drop any of it.

A necessary skill these days is learning to sit in the “fire” that is the stress of a demanding and fast-paced lifestyle while not being consumed by it.

So here’s a list of things I need to do according to experts in stress management.

  1. 60-75 minutes of daily exercise
  2. 30 minutes of daily meditation
  3. Eat 5 or 6, 100% home-cooked, whole foods meals daily
  4. Get 9 hours of uninterrupted sleep at night
  5. Find a hobby
  6. No screen time after 5PM
  7. Do more “not doing”.

So for the rest of us mere mortals, I created a talk called “Think Like A Cavewoman”.  It’s about 30 minutes long but you should check it out.  This approach to stress really helps me out and I hope it will add a little needed perspective in your busy life.
